R Sentiment Scoring HSBC w/ Harvard General Inquirer

We score the sentiment of an equity, NYSE:HSBC, using live news streams from Google and Yahoo, a sentiment lexicon, the Harvard General Inquirer, and the data analysis language R.

Our method takes as its starting point Using Text and Data Mining Techniques to Extract Stock Market Sentiment from Live News Streams (Nagar, Hahsler; 2012).

We use the method outlined recently in Equities text streams for natural language processing, based on the R text mining package tm and its webmining plugin.
